Violet is ignoring her newest campaign for Mirabella. Her agent, Angela, is getting sick of her ignoring her calls. And to make things worse, things are awkward between her and her best friend, Roger, ever since they kissed in the romantic Barcelona. Now, Roger has a new girlfriend named Chloe. They're always together laughing and Violet is always getting pangs of jealousy.

On the sunny side, Violet is going strong in Vassar. She has great new friends, one of them her gay roommate named Kurt who recognizes Violet as soon as she arrives at the dorm. I love Kurt's personality. He's so optimistic and hyper! Kurt is always supporting Violet and encouraging her to follow her heart. I wish I had a friend like him!

In the meantime, Violet isn't sure if she wants to continue with modeling. She's more interested in writing about her opinions on how society critiques models on their height and weight. 

I liked how Violet is so ordinary, but also so very unique at the same time. She deals with heartbreak just like every other girl would.  I think teenage girls could easily relate to her life. Melissa Walker makes all the characters seem so real, like you feel that you know them personally after finishing her book. Overall, Violet In Private is an awesome story.
